Mathematics Measurement Project with Grade Four Buddies
Our 100th Day of Kindergarten!
In math class the children are developing skills in one-to-one correspondence, gaining a number sense for numbers zero to twenty, naming and identifying the numerals zero to thirty, printing the numerals zero to thirty and naming and identifying the 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional basic shapes.
Our math students are also working on applying math to everyday situations. The students are becoming problem solvers. They are comparing sets using bar graphs and diagrams. The concepts of "greater than" and "less than" are being investigated often! The equality concept and the "one more than" and one less than concepts are also being explored by our students.
Our students have been working on creating and completing patterns and constructing 3-dimensional shapes. We have also been working on elementary place value and addition and subtraction concepts.
Skip counting is is another important skill which our students are working on. We are skip counting by 10’s, 5’s, and 2’s.
